THERAPY
bereavement program
Our Bereavement Program was created in 2023 for individuals and families that have experienced any kind of loss in their life and provides a space for youth and their families to respond in a generative way to the impacts of violence, death and loss.
Beyond the impacts of gun violence, the opioid epidemic and poverty, the grief and trauma felt by community members regarding the isolation and loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has had little to no public space for reconciliation and healing. We know that the impact of unaddressed grief and loss has pervasive negative health and wellness outcomes for communities.
Our Bereavement Program focuses on supporting Philadelphia families with children from under-resourced communities of color who have experienced traumatic loss.
Programming includes free quarterly bereavement events that incorporate storytelling, outdoor inter-generational healing practices with the support of goats, and mindfulness activities with a grief coach to memorialize and recognize loss. We also offer scheduled group visits that focus on processing grief and have a grief garden that is free and accessible 365 days of the year.
Trauma & Violence PREVENTION PROGRAM
We created our Trauma and Violence Prevention Program for individuals, groups and/or families impacted by violence, trauma, or harm. Our trauma-informed programming is customized to meet the unique goals of each group. Activities intentionally incorporate nature and/or animals and offer opportunities to build relationships, improve self-awareness, and explore self-empowerment in a safe and therapeutic setting. Examples of activities include goat walks and handling, team building in nature, mindfulness exercises, and fire pit activities.
Our programming has a positive impact on mood, stress levels and regulation, which in effect reduces the physical and mental impact of trauma on the body. It creates opportunities to build supportive connections and learn valuable life skills, such as mood regulation, coping strategies, emotional awareness and anger management.
Participants experience the greatest impact if they can complete at least two sessions. They are also encouraged to visit the farm anytime on their own to continue to take advantage of our drop-by resources.

All abilities ramble
The All Abilities RAMble is a free, nature-based somatic therapy for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, their friends and families of any age. The RAMble gives community members the opportunity to interact with our therapy staff and goats. It also provides opportunities to learn, practice skills and engage with others. The RAMble is also the Philadelphia area’s only free accessible animal-based therapy program where families can get connected to resources and find friends who understand in a judgment-free zone. Families can work 1:1 with a team for 30 minutes and also join the goats and staff on a farm tour. Check out our published research about the RAMble by clicking here.
Check our Events calendar to see when the next RAMble is taking place. Space is limited, and reservations are required.
small group wellness & skill building
We created our Small Groups Wellness and Skill Building programming for individuals and groups needing intensive support in addressing complex behavioral, developmental or health care challenges. We work personally with
organizations and groups to design goal-oriented, highly customized programming that focuses on growth, connection, and expression, and is suited for a range of different abilities and strengths.
Through our programming, we have helped participants strengthen functional skills, explore vocational skill-building, cultivate a mind-body connection, increase social-emotional
learning and encourage pro-social connection-based activities. We provide scaffolded support at the pace and level deemed most comfortable and most appropriate for the individual or group.
Some of our school and community partners have included The School District of Philadelphia, Widener Memorial School, HMS School, Overbrook School for the Blind, PA School for the Deaf, and Inglis House.
