Volunteering with The Philly Goat Project
Thank you for your interest in joining the Philly Goat Project team!
Whether it’s once a week or 2-3 days per month, committed volunteers have a huge impact on the lives of our goats and the mission of our program.
There are opportunities for everyone who wants to have a positive impact; from caring for the goats, providing administrative support, or helping with fundraising events, we are grateful for whatever talents you have to share.
We can always use help with the following:
Community walks/farm tours at the Farm at Awbury
Offsite events and visits to local schools, libraries, etc.
Barn maintenance and general "fixing-up"
Running errands (picking up hay, straw, etc)
We are happy to have volunteers aged 12 and up. Anyone under 17 needs to be accompanied by an adult volunteer. Most volunteer roles involve a weekly or
bi-weekly commitment, with a minimum shift of 2 hours.
We’re a working farm, so wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty! Closed-toe shoes are required. Clearances will be required if you will be working with young people.
STUDENTS - ages 18+. If your course/program requires supervised volunteer hours or course credit, both you and your professor must contact our program ahead of time. Required Minimum Commitment of one shift a week for 3 months.
COMPANIES/ORGANIZATIONS - We are happy to host groups of 10+ people with advanced scheduling so that we can prepare appropriate tasks and staff to manage. Fees are associated with these events in order to cover our staffing requirements. Please email us to schedule!
