Teen Internship Program

Teen Internship Program

PGP provides job training opportunities for Black youth ages 11-14 who attend local schools and live near the farm. The goal of the internship program is to help foster job skills while learning to take care of the goats and assist at events. Interns develop job readiness skills, build their resumes, foster lasting connections to mentors within the community, and share their experiences with their own families.

Attendance is weekly on Saturday mornings during the Fall and Winter,  twice a week in the Spring and three mornings a week in the Summer. Capacity is limited and students are accepted on rolling admissions. Students who demonstrate good work and interpersonal skills are eligible to be paid for jobs within PGP’s programs.

Our internships give preference to working with middle schoolers because they are at a critical age for developing self-confidence. By fostering their confidence and abilities to become empathetic, creative, capable leaders, we are able to invest in their future and the future of our community. PGP requests that a family member participate in a PGP event monthly with their intern to best support their growth and allow them to “show off” their skills. Admission is rolling, please submit an email of inquiry to director@phillygoatproject.org.

Please see the flyer below for more info.
