Teen Internship Program

Teen Internship Program

The Philly Goat Project works with mature teens ages 12-16 who live near the Farm, partnering with teachers and students to help foster job skills while learning to take care of the goats and work with their hands. Teachers volunteer their time to train interns.

Attendance is weekly on Saturday mornings during the Fall and Winter,  twice a week in the Spring and three mornings a week in the Summer.  Students who demonstrate good work and interpersonal skills are eligible to be paid for jobs within PGP’s programs. PGP’s goal is for Interns  to develop job readiness skills, build their resumes, and foster lasting connections to mentors within the community and to share this with their own families.

Our Internship gives preference to working with middle schoolers because they are at a critical age for developing self-confidence. By fostering their confidence and abilities to become empathetic, creative, capable leaders, we are able to invest in their future and the future of our community. PGP requests that a family member participate in a PGP event monthly with their Intern to best support their growth and allow them to “show off” their skills. Admission is rolling, please submit an email of inquiry to director@phillygoatproject.org
